What is a nonce in Ethereum?

In Ethereum, every transaction has a nonce. The nonce is the number of transactions sent from a given address. In English, a nonce is a number that can only be used once. In cryptography, a nonce is a one-time code selected in a random or pseudo-random manner that is used to securely transmit a main password, preventing replay attacks.

How does the Ethereum network work?

The Ethereum network works in a way that a transaction with a lower nonce will be processed first before any other, thus if you have a problem with an earlier transaction, the ensuing transaction will not be included in the blockchain until the one with the lower nonce is successfully included. What is “Gas Price” & “Gas Limit”?

Is it possible to double-spend a transaction in Ethereum?

In Ethereum, this method of “double-spending” is not possible because each transaction has a nonce included with it. Even if you attempt to do the above, it will not work as the second transaction (nonce of 3) cannot be mined before the first transaction (nonce of 2 ).

Is it possible to use POW nonce in Ethereum?

But since Ethereum takes nonce into consideration this is not allowed as the nonce of the later transaction is higher than the previous one. You may refer this question as well. upvoted, for mentioning PoW nonce.
